I have been spearfishing for 6 years and had no formal training. I waited for Dave and Charlie to come to Ireland and I’m delighted that I did!

The dry training was great and really engaging and interesting. They didn’t waste any time and focused on the important things.

The water training was incredible. I didn’t think I would enjoy diving without a gun but the tuition and instant feedback from Dave and Charlie made it so enjoyable and they guided my down to new PB depths with ease! Same could be said for the others on my course.

I’ve never got such a level of instruction in any sport prior to this! Highly recommend them to people of all levels.”

It was brilliant! 👌🤿🌴 “We’re a watersports company and we took our staff on the course as an end of season adventure, and it was brilliant!

We spent the morning in the classroom learning the theory of it all - coming from a background of adrenaline fuelled sports it was an incredible reversal of mindset to realise that this sport was all about slowing down, focusing the mind and deep relaxation... think yoga rather than base-jumping.

Then we took to the deep to practise our new found skills. Firstly in Killary Fjord where we found ourselves climbing upside down on a vertical descent of a 10 metre rope, and then off the sea cliffs of Old Head Co. Mayo where we swam through the kelp jungles surrounded by thousands of silvery fish.

I managed to actually relax under water, I slowed my breath, and with no sense of urgency held on to a thick branch of seaweed 5 metres down. Then I simply allowed the ocean to continue around me as it always has done, as if I wasn’t there at all.

Dave and Charlie are a lovely couple not to mention enthusiastic, fun and very capable instructors. We really enjoyed our time with them and hope to do some more stuff with them very soon!“

AIDA 4 + COACHING 💪 “I did an intermediate course with Charlie & Dave in Keem Bay in August, and it was absolutely one of the highlights of my summer, if not year!

There was a great mix of in depth theory, practices on land and then in water training as well.

Everything was really well organised before and during the course, and I really gained a lot from the training sessions.

Charlie and Dave are both lovely people and their love for freediving is really infectious - they are extremely knowledgeable and attentive instructors and teach in a safe, supportive and relaxed way.

I left feeling super inspired to carry on learning and enjoying being underwater.

It was also an absolute joy to explore some of Ireland’s underwater natural beauty, we saw all sorts of different species of jellyfish, fish including flatfish and sand eels, crabs, starfish and swam through some beautiful kelp.

In summary, I couldn’t recommend Emerald Freediving enough!”

AIDA 4 + COACHING 💪 “I did an intermediate course with Charlie & Dave in Keem Bay in August, and it was absolutely one of the highlights of my summer, if not year!

There was a great mix of in depth theory, practices on land and then in water training as well.

Everything was really well organised before and during the course, and I really gained a lot from the training sessions.

Charlie and Dave are both lovely people and their love for freediving is really infectious - they are extremely knowledgeable and attentive instructors and teach in a safe, supportive and relaxed way.

I left feeling super inspired to carry on learning and enjoying being underwater.

It was also an absolute joy to explore some of Ireland’s underwater natural beauty, we saw all sorts of different species of jellyfish, fish including flatfish and sand eels, crabs, starfish and swam through some beautiful kelp.

In summary, I couldn’t recommend Emerald Freediving enough!”
